Daisy's Cafe

6/26/10 - Litchfield Park, AZ

This was a little family owned breakfast and lunch cafe off of Indian School Rd. between Dysart and Litchfield Park Rd. We were the first people there at 8 when it opened on Saturday morning. We were in the neighborhood looking for breakfast and thought we'd try this place. It was a diamond in the rough. They make all their food with fresh ingredients. No fake eggs and homemade recipe for french toast mixture. They have very reasonable prices for their menu items. Chuckles ordered the french toast and I had the breakfast burrito. The French Toast came with hot maple syrup and was made of two large slices of hearty bread. The breakfast burrito was two burritos cut in halves and displayed surrounding the salsa. It was an original cute way of displaying a breakfast burrito and it was delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly. They take pride in their work and all they have put into this cafe. Loved it and totally recommend it to others.

California Pizza Kitchen

6/28/10 - Tempe, AZ
This evening we at at the California Pizza Kitchen. For the appetizer we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. These had a tangy spice to them. They were delicious but they only give you four lettuce leaves. The leaves are huge so they could be torn in half to serve more than 2 people. For our entree we ordered the Spinach Artichoke Thin Crust Pizza half with chicken. This pizza was 12" and plenty for 2 people to share and be quite full. We both loved the pizza. Chuckles could care less for the large artichoke heart chunks. He thought they could have been sliced in smaller pieces. An interesting drink they offer is peach lemonade. The peach flavor covered up the tartness of the lemon juice and gave it a quite refreshing taste. Finally for dessert we chose the butter cake because our waiter recommended it by saying it is the best dessert ever. We were at first skeptical but found it to be true. It was to die for. The haagen-daz ice cream on top was not up to par, but the cake was absolutely amazing.
